Nucleism: personal autonomy

Nucleism is about the person as the nucleus around which all growth and development takes place.  In this context, personal autonomy means the ability to chart one’s own life in consideration of others.  Whereas an individualist fights for his perceived self-interest if need be at the expense of others, the autonomous person focuses on authenticity and personal growth leading to an awareness of the importance of rewarding social relationships, of a sense of competence in valued goals as well as to self determination in our quest to lead a meaningful, happy and fulfilled life.

Thus, the spirit of nucleism lies in the individual’s desire for personal autonomy.  We want to follow our true aspirations, our heart, - our ‘nucleus’.  But to be authentic takes courage for which we need moral support. Moreover, we want to use our talents, feel competent and receive some recognition for our good deeds.  However, for personal growth and true recognition we need warm and trusting relationships with others.  In short, the quality of our relationships is crucial for our well-being.

The Making of a New World

We dream of a new world of sharing and collaboration, participation and creativity, of collective intelligence. A world connecting people, thoughts and ideas, and this irrespective of nationality, ethnic origin, race, religion, gender or social status inviting all to use their talents and participate. Rather than impose, we expose and propose our views and respect those who differ. Together we fight for authenticity and transparency, for tolerance and rich cultural diversity, for free, open and unhindered access to information and knowledge, for self-determination, autonomy and human rights. In short, for our web culture.
